Fall Season

Friends in the US have been telling me that temperatures have been dropping and fall is really coming. While they are excited for fall and cooler temperatures because it is a welcome break from the heat of summer, they are also dreading the time when winter would come and not even the prospect of having warm nights by the fireplace with fireplace insert can cheer them up. They told me winters of the past years have been harsh and got colder each time so they are afraid this year’s winter season would be worse. I hope it won’t be, especially for those in the East Coast.

Christmas Shopping – Not That Early

Can you believe it is already September?

I am actually looking for photo frames online to display holiday photos with, as I plan it to be part of our holiday decorations this year. These can also make the coolest gifts, especially when you slip in a favorite picture of the person you are giving the photo frame to.

Most of my gifts this year are personalized, that’s why I am starting this early!

The Lessons I Learned from Using the Best Credit Cards

Greed is considered one of the world’s deadly sins. It is too much hunger for power, money, attention and even food. In other words, it’s always excessive. And don’t people nowadays have excessive lifestyles?

Excessive lifestyles that cannot be supported are the main reasons why families go bankrupt. They insist on getting a house they would not be able to pay in the long run, get more cars because they don’t want to be bothered arranging their schedules into one, dining every night at restaurants and shopping all the time. Credit card companies absolutely thrive on excessive lifestyles. No wonder people are up into their ears in debt.

I have had my share of getting into too much debt. There was a point in my working career that I had four credit cards, the best credit cards in the industry I should say, and all of them were maxed out. I had numerous calls from the Collection Agency. Those were not one of my proudest moments for sure. Fortunately, with the help of family, I was able to close those credit cards. It took a while to get me back to good credit standing so I can be eligible for another credit card application but I was able to do it. These days we just stick with citibank credit cards and make sure to pay in full everytime.

It is always good to have in mind that before spending, one thinks not once but thrice whether they need it or not. It is also wise that in times like these when the economy is down all over the world that families save more and spend less. It would also help if they save FIRST when receiving their paychecks.

Expensive Habit

My husband had no choice but to lay low with smoking when we were in Singapore. For one thing, there are strict laws when and where to smoke. Since we were moving and walking a lot, it would have been such a hassle to find smoking areas. Second, cigarettes are crazy expensive at SG$10 a pack! No wonder people who smoke there look for great cigar deals online or ask for tourists to bring in some packs in their check-in luggage.

It is actually a wise move for the government to impose penalties, jack up prices and restrict import of cigarettes – it does its citizens good!

No Need to Go Out When You Have the Kinect!

When you have the Kinect to keep you active. I was initially against buying it – it was not in any of our plans but we got a good deal. It turns out that it was the best purchase we made. The kids are playing and burning calories with exercise with the games and it has become a family bonding activity as well for all of us. There is no need for us to buy archery supplies or go to a bowling center when we can play bowling, table tennis and boxing with the Kinect! It’s a great investment!

Shopping!

Who doesn’t love shopping? I do not like to shop in malls but would never pass up a good sale when I see one. When we were on vacation last week, we bought more than what we originally intended to buy but Singapore is a shopping haven and we could not resist! There were mens diamond watches too, and it’s a good thing my husband isn’t into jewelry or else I would have bought one too!

Pet Problems Solved

My brother-in-law is a pet-lover. He particularly loves dogs and would have taken in more dogs in their house if only their landlord would have permitted. Recently, his dog developed mange problems caused by mites and it was really a huge problem for them. Thankfully, he chanced upon the site http://www.mange.net and he found a solution for his pet dog. It really worked as his pet was mange-free in a matter of days!

Working Advantage

One of the advantages of my present work right now is I can travel and enjoy a vacation without having to file a leave from office. This would also mean I get to be on call even when I am on vacation but with today’s technology (having access to the internet anywhere and everywhere) – it gets easier. I can even develop another hobby and take up jewelry making and practice with a curb chain and still be able to work. And I get to be with the kids. Nothing can get sweeter than that!

Keeping Things Exciting in the Bedroom with Adult Toys

I have a virtual co-worker (virtual – online, since I work from home) who has confided that her marriage was on the rocks. She has been married for ten years and she doesn’t really know when things turned for the worse. Her marriage during the early years was amazing – love was present and her husband doted on her all the time.

Things stayed pretty much the same – almost routine actually – and this is where she thinks things went wrong. She is now trying to insert some excitement and novelty in their marriage and I am really hoping that her efforts don’t go to waste as I can clearly see how much she loves her husband.

Here are some of things she has been doing:

1. She has put on great effort in taking care of her appearance lately. She is exercising to lose weight, putting make-up and dressing up for her husband more.

2.She surprises her husband with little things – a note in his lunch bag, a sweet call from work, taking him out on a date.

3. She also is surprising him when it comes to their bedroom. She ordered adult toys online and ordered sexy lingerie, different kinds of lubrication and edible body paint. She was too shy to order a rabbit vibrator though.

So far, her husband has been responding positively towards her efforts and she is happy with the way things are going. I hope it stays the same!

Jop Openings

I am eyeing two job openings (writers) right now and I am thinking if I can handle more writing gigs as of the moment. One is an article writer for restaurant furniture and the other is for health disease and prevention. I have a background on the latter and not so much on the former but I feel that I can certainly wing it somehow. I just do not know if my current job can continually give me opportunities so I need to expand my network. Decisions – decisions.
