The Eternal Procastinator

With only two days before Christmas, I still haven’t finished shopping for Christmas parents for my relatives and godchildren. Provided we don’t really give gifts (most of us contribute to Christmas feasts), being an adult now, I feel like I need to give gifts already – I’m 27 for crying out loud, WITH TWO KIDS to boot.

Anyway, I found the perfect solution. Gift cards – bless the soul of whoever has invented them. I personally would prefer gift cards over money – I feel it is more discreet and tactful. Besides, it helps me focus and buy the gift I really wished for. For example, if I asked for money for an iPod Touch and relatives give me cash instead of a gift card to an Apple Store, there are more chances I’ll be spending it on other stuff instead.

Besides, I will not stress over if a person will like my gift or the size I bought for her is right – studies have shown that 40% of Americans actually return gifts that are given them (Remember to always have the tag and receipt in the box – it’s not tactless but considerate).

So yes, gift cards are my solution. I can even buy them on one store online – Blackhawk Network’s Gift Card Mall!! It is found in an exclusive retail network of leading grocery, mass, convenience, drug and specialty retailers.

Who says I’m cramming? :)

I’m going to be spending the next days leading to Christmas offline – I hope you have a happy holiday with your loved ones!
