Blogging is considered mainstream these days. When I started blogging in 2003, there were only a few hosting providers who had packages affordable enough for people to keep one blog. That’s why people got themselves free blogger accounts. Enter the advent of domain names and having your own “home” on the web, and the hosting providers followed suit with cheaper hosting packages.

One word of advice though: Be informed before signing up. Read up on web hosting articles that are independent from hosting companies. They usually give you the low-down on the best hosting providers, the cheapest hosting companies, and give you some tips on choosing a hosting provider.

After a few trial and errors on my end, I now have found a web hosting provider that fits my needs (and isn’t so hard on the pocket).
